Evangelists and preachers can succumb to the temptation to use what I call “psych tricks” and/or manipulative techniques to get people to come forward in any particular service. I’ve seen it and felt it work on me. #5 indicates to me this tendency to equate a person “going forward” to actually making a sincere personal choice. As a person who is very susceptible to emotional manipulation, I’ve learned to resent these techniques personally.
