I agree with the answer to #6 , denomination is less important than how seriously/literally you believe the Bible. We have believers and unbelievers in just about all denominations!What stood out to you?

I finally dragged my backside out of bed around 9:30 ! I am SO ashamed Did you like the “backsliding heifer” illustration? It struck me today that when God “gives up or let’s go” of a nation in sin, even the land is punished and suffers for their sins.  Are we as a country in danger of losing the blessings from God? I think we can pretty much count on it!

Hosea 3:4 -4:2 Switching to the prophetic part of Hosea today.Do you think Israel will have to be put out of the land again before the “Last Days.”  He seems to make a pretty strong case that is how it is supposed to go down.

This book is such a great object lesson for us of How our rejection of Him must make Him feel!Are we out flirting with the world when we should be prioritizing our time and our hearts towards God and His Word?Let’s return to our first love with Him. Let Him be enough for us each…

#6 I really appreciate TTB’s policy about not begging for money all the time or sending junk mail.  I also think their continued success in being funded regardless is a clear indication of Gods blessing.What did you guys find interesting?

God actually asked Hosea to disobey the Mosaic law and marry Gomer. I guess you can do that when You are God! True, but it made me laugh. . . and think. How about you?

I’m with McGee on how he ended today’s sermon on Hosea and Gomer.She sinned against the one who loved her! She turned against Love!God sent him back after her multiple times just like He pursues us, despite our repeated “whoredoms” against Him.I agree McGee, I pray Gomer DID return to Hosea after the book ended!

I’m looking forward to learning from Hosea. I found the introduction from one of his sermons to be a nice change of pace from the daily studies as well.We really ignore the seriousness of adultery and take far too lightly the consequences of it these days.
